The only downside will be the all digital nature of it, but outside of lacking the new game smell, PC is pretty amazing. I’m sure you and many others will love it, especially in a console-like format.

I adored remake and I was well on my way to feeling that way about rebirth as well, but eventually it began to feel so tedious and disjointed, that it took me months of forcing myself to play little by little until I beat it. It frustrated me enough to where part 3 is likely a “wait for sale” game.

I actually liked the change in direction at the end of remake, with the whole fighting fate narrative. Remake was a damn near perfect game. The problem with Rebirth is that it lacks cohesion. It’s always trying to lure you away to do anything other than actually play the game and it suffers for it.

You also don’t get any rewards for failing, so with extreme trials, specifically, you could spend an hour trying to help the sprouts clear, be unsuccessful, and essentially waste an hour of your time. It’s not uncommon for Ramuh EX runs to end in a vote to abandon, for example.

I don’t think it’s necessarily sprout hate. More so that people are annoyed that extreme trials and guildhests are even in the roulette at all. Extremes are hardcore content, albeit generally entry level. Guildhests are basically tutorials. In mentor roulette, both give equal rewards.

So I’m not getting the brutal ones that may take an hour only to fail, but I’m also not getting a ton of guildhests either. I’ve seen so many complaints about sprouts queueing into ARR extremes and comm farming guildhests, but that hasn’t been my experience during the first 46 runs.

There is an inherent risk with both, as digital games can always be pulled in the future and physical games may not be compatible with future console generations. So keep those things in mind as well.

At the very least, GKCs offer us an option where we can sell, trade, or share our digital games with relative ease. That’s likely not much solace for physical only people, but it is at least a step in the right direction for how digital should be managed.

We all know it’s not, though. That’s the exact number that were produced, so the actual sales would undoubtedly be at least 1-2 million lower, accounting for loss and damage over the lifetime of production. Doesn’t really matter, regardless.

Based on the switch 2 demo for Adventures of Elliot, that game is going to be peak. It impressed me enough that it would be one of the very few games I’d be willing to pay $70 for, if it costs that much. I suspect it’ll be $50-$60 though.
