With more than 4.3 million followers on Facebook and nearly 900k here on Bluesky, they've built a massive following on theft.

Mixed feelings here. Dominion Voting Systems having a GOP-aligned new owner is cause for concern, but I'm not quite comfortable with the way AltNPS is talking about this.

Given the extremely similar wording and lack of citation, I feel comfortable saying that this was reported by Gordon Lubold at Yahoo News at 8:46 AM today, five hours before AltNPS reposted it without attribution.

One problem with AltNPS not linking to a source is that it robs the audience of critical context.

For example, who is Michael Wolff? A lot of readers might not know, because there are a lot of players in the Epstein story.

NPR will tell explain the context in their article. AltNPS won't.

Another case of "I can't prove it, but AltNPS probably got this somewhere else." Given their track record, I'm skeptical that they're watching epa.gov directly for press releases.

I'm guessing they saw this in The Hill (Rachel Frazin, 11/10, 4:31 PM) or The Guardian (11/10, 7:00 AM).
Alt National Park Service: Because these chemicals can linger in water, soil, and even the human body. The public will have less data about potential exposure. The EPA will take public comments for 45 days before deciding whether to finalize the new exemptions.

Alt National Park Service: Once the government reopens, precedent has already been set, if Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to swear in Adelita Grijalva, the newly elected representative from Arizona’s 7th District, someone else will. In Powell v. McCormack (1969), the Supreme Court ruled that a duly elected member cannot be denied their seat, meaning a judge could step in to administer the oath or order the House to allow it. In other words, once the government reopens, Johnson will no longer be able to act as the gatekeeper.

Maybe AltNPS just forgot how to make threads, but I've never seen them this manic. A new post every few minutes, most of which are fluff that could have stayed in the drafts.

They could just be earnestly posting through it, but they could also be testing a "flood the zone" engagement strategy.
The Alt National Park Service posting five times in one hour. They write: "Call your senators. Let them know how you feel." "Cave once, and history will make you pay twice." "Trust them only as far as you can throw them." "Democrats would do well to remember that trusting a party defined by deceit and bad faith isn't just naive, it's dangerous to democracy itself." I always like to say that the vast majority of AltNPS's followers are just regular people, but the small subset that makes up their core group of devotees are the ones who worry me.

I've seen people say that AltNPS's "codes" predict government drone activity, and it only gets stranger from there.

My first experience with BlueAnon types defending AltNPS. It's really uncomfortable and a little scary, tbh. The misunderstanding of stuff. AltWatcher was right in that it really reminds me of QAnon. I can see the person doing an insurrection on AltNPS's behalf if AltNPS ever went off the deep end.

The responses on Facebook to AltNPS's latest post are disheartening, to say the least.

People are falling over themselves to give AltNPS credit for "reporting on these tragic events," but this is not reporting. This is hijacking a real abduction and spicing it up to increase engagement.

AltNPS's post is full of the same lurid details and breathless dramatization as their previous attempt at ICE raid erotica from a few weeks ago.

Things that AltNPS could not possibly have witnessed, and which aren't reported anywhere else.
Alt National Park Service: It was just after sunrise in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood when parents began arriving at Rayito de Sol Spanish Immersion Early Learning Center, a cheerful brick preschool known for its bilingual songs and bright murals. Toddlers shuffled in with backpacks half their size, clutching their parents’ hands, the smell of coffee drifting through the cool November air. Then, the calm routine of drop-off broke apart. Two unmarked SUVs rolled to a stop on the narrow side street. Federal agents stepped out (vests marked ICE) and moved quickly toward a small blue sedan idling near the curb. A teacher everyone knew as Miss Diana had just parked and was gathering her things for class. Witnesses say the agents called her name, their voices sharp. She looked startled, frozen for a moment, then hurried toward the daycare entrance. Parents thought at first it was some kind of mistake, maybe an accident or a misunderstanding. But within seconds, the scene turned chaotic. The agents followed her up the short steps and through the glass vestibule. Inside, children could be heard laughing down the hall, unaware. Staff members rushed forward, shouting for the agents to stop. One mother cried out, “The kids are right there!” But the sound of the struggle a door opening, a command barked in English, and then the teacher’s voice, trembling: “Yo tengo papeles! I have papers!" echoed down the hallway."

I suspect, but can't prove, that AltNPS isn't an avid follower of the National Association of the Deaf.

But given they've stolen from Politico twelve times, I imagine they could have found this information there (the NAD is mentioned by name in the article).

A quick look at their "Report number" page shows their code does nothing. And how in the world would that page even work? There's no verification process, count process, or anything. I literally wrote in Atlantis, Wyoming with a count of 13, and it accepted it without question.

On Facebook, AltNPS is asking for "news, incidents, or updates" on various election day events across the country, and point to an email address: report@ourparks.org.

This is new to me; I don't remember seeing that address before, or seeing AltNPS try to become a tip line.

This one's weird. Cumberland County does lean strongly blue, but every source I can find indicates that these "reports" are coming from right-wing activist Scott Presler, who was railing about this affecting *RED* districts of that blue county.

AltNPS implies that this is targeting BLUE voters.

These reports "came in" weeks ago, to the Bucks County Beacon and other Pennsylvania outlets like PhillyBurbs.com. Not today, and not to the Alt National Park Service.
