33 hours in. Still not done, but since he has two eyes we're officially out of zombieland and into something like the home stretch

a screenshot of my digital workspace, with my reference on the left and my canvas on the right. both have a light cyan grid overlaying them, which is a technique I use to help me with accuracy as I freehand paint. After 33 hours all the main elements are in, there's a simple enough background, his clothes are done, so is his arm, hand, and watch, his hair is basically done-ish, and I'm working my way up his face adding the finest textures, moles, freckles, and tiny lines to the base I've already established for his features. I've made it up to eye level, and am happy to say he now has TWO eyes. His glasses are still more like a suggestion on the left side of his face, and his left temple and forehead still need to have their textures done. He also needs a left eyebrow, and a proper hairline.

a screenshot of my digital workspace with my reference on the left and my canvas on the right. there's a light cyan grid over both the reference and the canvas, a technique I use to help me be more accurate in my freehand rendering. After 26.5 hours of work there's a basic background, his clothes are done, his hand, arm, and watch are done, his hair is pretty much done, and the rest of his face has had a basic, no details, pass. I'm working my way up from his neck to his face, rendering the finest details, adding moles, and have just finished putting in his teeth. He still has no eyes though, no eyebrows, and his glasses are just a very solid suggestion.

a screenshot of my current digital workspace, with my reference on the left and my canvas on the right; after 21 hours my painting of adam driver still doesn't have any eyes or teeth, but the basics of his features are all there, his hair is pretty much done, his shirt is fully rendered, and so is his arm and his watch, and I'm working my way up the page, adding details as I go. I'm mid-way through painting in his beard.
