Was involved in a project requiring PPI for health service implementation research, was very difficult to do in practice in any meaningful way, though I can see why it looked like it 'should' be included. Each project should be assessed on merit as to whether it's needed and how.

With a different publisher we had a paper entirely discussing project engagement with Public Patient Involvement (PPIE) held up prior to review until we included 'a specific section on PPIE'.
