Got into an argument today with someone who claimed that she was teaching neurodivergent folks to use AI because she herself was ND and understood the challenges. I pushed back on a couple of her points. By the end of the conversation she was telling me I was "obviously not right in the head."

I had a student pass away this week. It was very sudden. It sounds so cliche to say it but she was an absolute delight. She was someone with presence and couldn't wait to see what she would do next.

We can say ABA is bad for kids (it is!) BUT we can also say that all therapies and interventions for kids have to be coded as ABA to qualify for insurance, even the good ones, and this removes those supports for autistic kids too.
NOPE, we are not going to make UHC restricting ABA "therapy" a scandal. Autistic adults who survived it as children describe it as torture. It should be illegal and I don't give a fuck if they're only doing it to save money, it's an unambiguous good to reduce the hours we torture autistic kids.
NEW: After reviewing leaked documents, we have found UnitedHealth is strategically limiting access to a treatment for thousands of children with autism across the country in order to cut costs.

Periodic reminder that the internet is very large place and there are many places you can go to watch people be their worst selves. But as long as those people exist, I'm going to limit who gets to access specifically me because I don't want to carry that around in my pocket. That's not weird
