I’d love to spend time (& do where I can sneak it in) looking holistically at someone and focusing in on both their & my concerns (often wildly different) but the system positively discourages this and I see many posts on GP sites saying this “isn’t our job”

Very hard this. Nurses are amazing but not taught ICE model and will generally avoid/ miss cues unless very experienced. With their tick box model they’ll do a better overall job than me who will have a great chat and then forget something deemed important to QOF.

By Daniel Chandler I think. Hard work (first half particularly as a bit like a philosophy text book) had it on loan from library so ended up skimming that but second half has lots of practical suggestions about how to make societal changes to make things fairer but still free (liberal)

Read an interesting book last summer “free and equal”. Current Western culture of meritocracy only truly fair if everyone starting from same point. Which of course they don’t.
