MIN-NYR Statcap

Competitive game after Minnesota dominated the first period. NYR's offense still stuck in the mud but definitely a little unlucky (Zibanejad got robbed a couple of times). Boldy/Kaprizov had themselves a night.

First paid subscriber post of the season up on Substack.

Looking at the different phases of the Leafs offense last year & how they're trying to adjust without Marner while keeping their minimalist approach on defense.

Leafs-Red Wings weekend series statcap. Two very weird games with Detroit dominating at home & leaning on Talbot on the road. The Kasper-Kane-DeBrincat line seems to really let loose when they get the matchup advantage.

Oilers stats from the first two games. Good showing for Gridin in his first NHL game for the Flames.

Two games, two wins for the Kraken to start the season. Won a tight one against Vegas after a run-and-gun type of game against Anaheim. Most encouraging thing I took away from both games is the top line looks legit so far.

Well deserved shutout win for Charlie Lindgren last night. A lot of tips & deflections from the Rangers, but they had six shots off high-danger passing plays and Lindgren stopped all of them. Standard back-to-back game on the road for the Caps but a good game from Carlson offensively.

This is my new favorite thing on the Kraken broadcast.

First Canes Statcap

Really good showing from most of the roster but the Stankoven line had most of the offense while Robinson/Hall got the scoring chances. Ehlers/Aho/Jarvis with a great debut as the new top line, albeit leaving some offense on the table with the blocked shots.

Stats from the first two Montreal games.

Played well against Toronto & sat on a big lead against Detroit. I always love how Suzuki runs away with these charts just from being a workhorse with the puck. Slafkovksy & Bolduc with good early showings offensively in both games.
