Anyone researching #BROUGHAM do get in touch. Brougham is a small village in Cumbria and is the site of Brougham Castle and Brougham Hall - in theory all Broughams like me should descend from there. #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
It was great visiting Scotland earlier in June to come across this war memorial detailing the full family genealogy of the 2 being remembered

Feeling a poor example of a Yorkshire man - I never knew there was such a thing as Yorkshire Pudding Day. Worse still, I never had one today either - not that I ever need an excuse!! #YorkshirePuddingDay #Yorkshire

We pray for remembrance and for today we pray that the lessons of the Holocaust can be learned as we pray for peace, tolerance and friendship throughout the world. #Holocaust #6million

Great news that the future of Brougham Hall is being saved by the formation of a Community Interest Company which has been set up by the Artisan Tenants. They need our support. #BroughamHall #Genealogy

I started reading Genesis again this year with the intention of reading the bible chronologically. Has anyone put the #genealogy of the bible into Ancestry or elsewhere does anyone know?

With #tiktok now gone in the US does this mean the art of conversation in family homes will be practiced again?

Love this photo of my grandma, Hannah Ledgard, (1901-1985) on the left with the hat with her sisters and mother Florence Lapidge (1860-1937) - probably around 1908-1910. How old do people think Hannah is on this photo?

Happy new year to all my fellow genealogists out there. Let’s hope that #2025 is going to be a good hunting ground for family history research. It’s started off well with the news that the 1921 census will also be a available on #Ancestry. #genealogy

Watched a 1999 adaptation of David Copperfield yesterday with Maggie Smith, Bob Hoskins and Daniel Radcliffe. Excellent. It’s meant to be partly autobiographical for Charles Dickens. How much family history has been written and possibly reinvented this way? #genealogy

Does anyone know of a good way to show small parts of a family tree, a family group, or say a small section of a pedigree chart, on a website page? #genealogy #genealogysoftware

Goose trip drama - copied a family from another #ancestry tree for an irrelevant part of my research. Realised wrong. Wasted 6 hours sorting as it must be right and needing evidence !!! Afterwards thought and that’s got me absolutely no where with my research. Teach me not to copy. LOL. #genealogy

While studying the #Broughams in Birmingham I’ve found 2 sisters who marry the same man. One dies so the other one steps in. How common is this? #genealogy #familyhistory

Just spent the morning at Yardley cemetery in Birmingham looking for grave stones. It’s massive the cemetery- I’m glad I had some info before I went otherwise it would have been impossible. Shocking you have to pay £10 for each grave location though!

I never knew there was so much Genealogy software around. I may have been lazy by sticking with Family Tree Maker and Ancestry. Thanks @genealogysoftware.bsky.social. If anyone can recommend some good charting software with output suitable for publishing on websites I’d love to hear.
I'm updating the current #genealogysoftware list and I noticed that since the beginning of November, there have been updates/upgrades (minor and major updates) to 25 separate #genealogy programs, browser extensions, and plugins.

Last weekend I took advantage of #FindMyPast free access of the #1921 #census. I was amazed at the amount of basic transcription errors I found. Has anyone else found the same or was I just unlucky? #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
