Years ago I stacked my L.E. Modesitt Jr books atop each other to see how high they stacked. Answer was around six feet!

I have more Modesitt books now and am thinking this needs to be recreated

Have I mentioned that I’m really loving AN ECHO OF THINGS TO COME by James Islington? Because I am.

A day late for top shelf friday but always love these threads so here’s a recent addition to my collection: Grendel mini series issue 2!

I just need a few more Grendels (including Comico Primer 2) to complete an entire collection. I’ve always enjoyed Matt Wagner’s vision with the concept of Grendel

Thanks to the wonderful @nickborrelli.bsky.social having me think about Frank Herbert I wanted to share about my favorite Non Dune book by FH: THE GODMAKERS

A standalone that builds on concepts from some of his short stories, the title does kind of give away the concept, but it’s a neat read.

The painting begins. Keeping it light easy fun right now. Imperial Fist Yellow Contrast for the right shoulder, Bharroth Blue for the body. Saving the left arm for now, thinking each Company in the Chapter gets a unique color for the left arm. Helmets might be colored for each Squad in the Company.

Kitbashing, 3D Printing, and ebay rescuing a hundred Space Marines so that I can paint them up as a Chapter Company in full, making them uniform while still drastically different. Naming each of them will be fun. Halfway to the goal now!

A comic book a day!

You know… the BEST part of this whole issue is the holographic cover. Well that and the data dump for backstory about a war in the heavens between good and evil spilling over on to Earth… but for real it’s the cover for me.

A comic a day!

CYBER FORCE by Marc Silvestri is another foundational issue of Image Comics which rocked the 90s! Superhero team concept, incredible art, ok story, something that draws you in and makes you want the next issue, which is kinda soap operaish when you think about it like that…🤔🤔🤔

A comic book a day!

WILDC.A.T.S by Jim Lee issue 1 was a foundational issue of Image Comics, Jim Lee (made famous by X-Men) launched this original creator owned conic book about a super powered Covert Action Team who unknowingly was going to become the good guys in a battle of good vs evil.

Really enjoying this story. There’s good building tension and I can easily see some main characters potentially turning evil in the name of what they believe is right. Don’t know if that happens or not, but enjoying that tension.

David Drake’s series Hammer’s Slammers is a Military SciFi where mercenary armies battle on behalf of warring civilizations. Excited to return to this series! The author is a Vietnam War Veteran so brought a lot of authenticity to the stories.
