That when they brought slaves over here, it was to take money. So first the idea came that we want to make money, then the slaves came in order to make that money. That means that capitalism had to, through historical fact, racism had to come from capitalism. It had to be capitalism first and racism was a by-product of that.

(long read) am i wrong like????? why are you telling yts to think of us as superheros or royalty as if that’s a cure to racism (which is violent and dehumanizing) ??? this person is stating that yts should dehumanize us even more by placing us on a pedestal.

I was fed up after a girl posted that she has bad thoughts about Black people and can't control it, and was asking reddit is she racist?...she expressed that her therapist says it's OCD, lol. Like, How?? Everyone on the post, was saying "that thought is normal", "it would be crazy if you didn't have those thoughts", "your therapist is right", lol. That post inspired this. A direct post giving them a simple cure to racism. When I tell you they reported it and had so much to say...isn't this a simple cure for a big problem?? This was the exact post: "First. Read the Bible and have some love in you for starters. That would help. Love thy neighbor as thyself...Start by looking at everyone as equal, the same. We are all Humans. Second step, if that doesn't cure it.. Maybe, just maybe start looking at Black people like they are better than you, like Royalty. Think...Melanin is power and more melanin is more Power and Royalty. So the darker the person, the more Royal they are. Also, if that doesnt work: Think....Black people are superheroes, Thor, Captain America... undercover superheroes that didn't activate yet. With that cure....maybe the mindset of the racist people would change. Maybe more respect, and less racist and trashy behavior. Maybe reverence and no longer disgust. Just a rant I had to get out!" Join the conversation this is a screenshot of my original comment white people on reddit are extremely nerve wrecking, micro and macro aggressive but i personally don't think that thinking of us as royalty or superheroes will solve the problem. i'd argue it would exacerbate the issue because the real issue is racism is dehumanizing. Black people are human and we should only be thought of as such. humans are fallible. placing us on a pedestal as gods, royals or superheroes only creates an image in a nonblack person's eye that we are infallible or superhuman. this is the same logic used to justify shit like "black people cannot feel pain", punishing us when we make mistakes or denying Black disabled people accessible medical care. what that person really needs is to accept that they are inherently racist and then do something about it. read, listen and learn about/from Black people. put themselves in uncomfortable predominantly Black spaces that discuss these things (when invited) and just sit and listen. they could also ask questions when given consent. until they see us as human beings and not as something subhuman they will never change. racial ocd is a real thing but i find it interesting that the therapist's first thought (assuming) was to diagnose them instead of working on what else may be the source of the issue. this is a screenshot of a reply from OP in regards to my comment • • • That part....the therapist cosigning the racism...a professional.
