Art historically this is folding my brain like a paper fan 🪭

Beautifully hand painted Polish pottery
(at Target 🎯)
copying ancient Greek vessel patterns.
Other non Greek patterns have similar geometric designs that look borrowed from traditions related to Japanese and Chinese trade like 1850ish

Honestly a lot of pros need certain reminders too. Like it’s okay to have fun like a toddler. Scribbling is the 🐝 best. I love scribbling every single day, and it is a crucially important to my foundation as a practicing artist.
