You are one of 3 people I follow on letterboxd and I'm happy about that.

Give me your favourite emotional dialogue-heavy movie.

Do you happen to know if there's a cooling off period of sorts for lawyers and doctors? Because lawyers in particular seem to make the jump to politics pretty easily. Wondering how much pre-planning it takes. Public servants have to go through a pretty thorough process before being approved to run.

I'm almost embarrassed to look back at online me during peak cancel culture days.Jane's work really changed my perspective. Some people(billionaires) should be canceled.Maybe not your 70yr old bayman uncle who said something racist at dinner one time.Have that uncomfortable conversation.

You too!
I haven't been online much at all due to a big case of burnout a couple of years ago. Trying to put the energy I have into conversations with people in my life who are fairly apolitical. I learned that from Jane lol.

Jane taught me to get off the internet and have one on one conversations with people that I may not fully align with politically. We've been yelling into echo chambers for years. It's a hard space to get out of but worth the energy! Her take on single issue "organizing" blew my mind.

I think i understand what you're saying, and I feel similarly. I can't articulate my thoughts fully on this right now, partially due to a disability that makes it difficult to describe things 🙃.

I was hoping the nuances of awareness, accountability, and cancel culture would be better over here.
I haven't seen any scolding, thankfully.I do find people tend to equate education and requests for consideration as criticism, though. But that's a side tangent from what you're referring to,i think.

Lol. I need to know this story.

Under certain jurisdictions, unionized workers can't legally strike until an agreement is in place between the union and employer so that core essential services aren't disruptive to the point it affects the most vulnerable. There's a difference between inconvenience and harm, which you acknowledged.

Canada Post is trying their best to villianize postal workers. Please don't automatically believe them. These cheques were still delivered by postal workers without using scab labour.

I was a kid who asked questions. Often seen as obtuse, annoying my classmates & teachers. Ppl see questions as being argumentative. It's hard because I'm actually just trying to understand their perspective. My therapist says it's a neurodivergent thing.Possibly autism but I'm not ready to go there 😅
