Screenshot bc y'all wouldn't believe me if I told you... I j-u-s-t watched Lassie the other day (after something like a 30 year break) and wondered to myself if June Lockhart was still alive. The theme song/intro always said the cast names, so that's how I remembered it.

I don't remember exactly what year it came out, BUT I know it wasn't 1993. It had to be in my high school years. That movie has a GRITS song in it, and I know GRITS music because it was "acceptable rap" when I was growing up and I was surprised to hear it on a mainstream film.

There was an old-school R&B one too. It had the song "Strokin'" by Clarence Carter on it. (Do NOT look up those lyrics!) I was singing that song around the house when I was but a wee tot and my aunt asked me where I had heard that song. 😂😂

I have just been informed that my mother oversaw, orchestrated, and authorized my first house carry "loose." The first child got full protection under the law, but not the second one. 🤦🏾♀️
