Arts, travel, politics, social justice and naps — trying to spend less time on social media in 2024 so it’s great my Bluesky invite came through on 1 Jan 🤦🏻‍♀️
It’s cute here in Brisbane that the police have banned the Story Bridge walk for peace this weekend, but their ‘safety’ argument seems a little sketchy when it was perfectly fine to close the bridge to traffic for a cycling race and a marathon in recent months…

There used to be demand for arsenic as a colour dye too, what a weak argument from those Woodside sellouts

I might rewatch Loot instead, Maya Rudolph as a crazy billionaire but trying to make the world a better place in her own unique way, with a fabulous inclusive cast to boot. Rowling would hate it!

Where was the board’s conviction that the decision making process should hold up to scrutiny? Their job is to ensure governance is followed, so was that not the case here?

Point taken, but if those nazi shitheads do get inspired to also jump into a billabong and remove themselves from the equation, I won’t be mad

And if someone was to miraculously do it by accident, it helps to not be the type of person that people would assume did it on purpose… that move is not ‘on brand’ for most of the human race

I think everyone I follow, and many I don’t, shared the headline on Threads as well… you’re truly dominating the non-dominant platforms!

And that billionaire is most likely to be Mackenzie Scott

It would be great if media could stop reporting every brain fart from a billionaire and just cover the singular, slightly helpful point that one of them potentially makes every year… like Groundhog Day or something. We could have a parade!

Has anyone told them that breathing is for girls?
January 10, 2025 at 11:57 PM
So true… but also don’t the MAGA folk not care about pandemics and the like? Sounds like a weird tactic for the anti-masker/vaxxer, pro-ivermectin/bleach crowd to really get behind

I love that’s still a thing! Also makes me remember my Dad with his classic 80s moustache racing out some tallies to thank the garbage men doing the xmas day run

The contrast being shutting down a domestic violence charity night and Steven Bradbury literally saving girls from drowning is sending me

Sure, you can sue the venue raising money for a domestic violence charity during one of the worst years for women being murdered or you can be like Steven Bradbury saving girls from drowning — Raygun is the worst kind of accidental Olympian 🙄
