Can you PM your context? I think I understand the problem but I'm not trained to use your programming language

I love the "might have had"... This is why no-one without a PhD in a science subject knows that the word theory means any more 🤬

That is so bloody ridiculous. If you were my neighbour and I wasn't sick with COVID, I would come and clean your house for you for free right now. I hope this doesn't cost you money you can't afford 💜

Starter Villain by @scalzi.com has much the same premise from the other side. I very much enjoyed it but you probably have to be a talking cat fan to get the humour 🤣

And to be clear, I very much encourage you to donate if you can afford to. Just *please* make sure the money is going to the people you actually want to help. Not scammers in the US or Godknowswhere...

In other words, will you please stop asking if politics is a cult and start just saying that politics is not Religion and should never be treated as such. Thank you.

And I don't actually care if you think I'm being rude because I have literally been treated like a scum this week by a man from the Church of Scotland who apparently doesn't understand that there's a difference between folk beliefs and Religious Satanism, because he's obsessed with gendering witches

Hm. I'm not a member of the lib Dems but I voted for them for years and am a Scottish Greens member now. The problem with cults is that everyone in them is complicit.
I am not complicit with any of this "cult" behaviour you describe just by paying my dues every year to a political party.

I would prefer not to be doing it because my identity was stolen online, but otherwise yes! Very much so.
I have, you will be unsurprised to note, rectified that demeaning misspelling since I need an enrolled Deed Poll anyway.

That's lovely!
My ruddy Awful English Mother gave me "Catherine" as a middle name, for my *Jewish* Nanna who was Kitty with a K not Cathy with a C at all 🤬
She Doesn't Approve of family pet names At All. I've had to add new middle names by Deed Poll...

Oh that is genius.
I think it might be inspired by a transliteration of a classic poem about wolves from South / Central American or Southern European literature... I have a book called "Women Who Run With the Wolves" by an American Philosopher in the house somewhere...

Nope - I've worked at two Scottish universities and visited all of them except the University of the Highlands and Islands outside of the Inverness campus... I know at least some regional Scots dialect / humour from everywhere South of Inverness that isn't Gaelic speaking.

Ahah! Many of my friends live in Fife but I never have...
I suspect broad Fife Scots is still exactly as baffling to my ears as Dorric was 20 yrs ago but it would depend on how fast the person was speaking. I only heard Dorric ranted at me by little old ladies on King St as a student 😢

Several of my best friends from my Dundee days are Glaswegian and my best friend from school did her PhD there while I was studying in Aberdeen... I am *very* familiar with Glaswegian humour, from men and women of all ages 🤣

I've never lived in a Gaelic speaking area, only the NE.
I understand as much Irish as I do Scots Gaelic - I can recognise everyday words and colours in place names and that's about it unless I look it up.
OTOH, I can speak Dundonian granny dialect in a Shropshire accent so... ⚖️/ ⚖️ 🤣

Oh my God.
I still get ribbed constantly by Scottish mates for calling *anything* a "job" if I don't mean someone's career! Nevermind jobbie, which is *obviously* offensive slang even to someone whose mother scolded them for saying "crap" as a child...

And now my question is, is a Scottish man offended by the fact that my English instincts say that is a *purse* not a sporran? Or would you call that example a sporran because he's wearing it on a kilt belt?
Because my Irish husband would agree with me because he's a reenactor not Scottish...
