Nice to see my follower count rise. My policy is to follow back people I know from elsewhere and generally follow others after there's been a bit of interaction. If I haven't followed you back despite knowing you, it's probably because you're using a different photo. Just like this and I'll rectify.
A Facebook memory from nine years ago. Haha.

A former US ambassador to the EU on #r4today just now claims Trump can’t be a fascist because “his children and grandchildren are Jewish”. If we ignore the fact that ONE of his children is a Jewish convert, it’s just her children that are Jewish, and fascists target other minorities, he has a point.

I don’t want to be mean about our new downstairs neighbour, who seems very nice, but I can’t help thinking her wreath looks like it was made by Benson & Hedges.

All Nigel Farage needs to say is “yeah, I was an insufferable little racist shit at school but I’ve learnt from it and have devoted the best years of my life to stoking ethnic division and scapegoating immigrants so my rich frien…”

Actually, yeah, now I think about it, he *is* in a bit of a pickle.

This article doesn’t answer this question. It just asks it. But it’s not a bad write-up. Farage continues to be rattled, which, to me, suggests he knows it’s bad for his chances.

Fuck his it’s “politically motivated” defence, though. Of *course* it’s politically motivated. That’s fine if it’s true.

To lighten the mood, isn’t it mildly amusing - or at least diverting - that the second syllable in each of the components of ‘Dulwich College’ can be spelt so differently but pronounced the same?

I realise, of course, that odd spelling in English is something of which you’ll already have knowlwich.

Facebook is serving me up a right load of old shit these days. Also, Lee, the BBC isn’t demanding apologies. It’s reporting. Your leader, however, is absurdly demanding apologies from the BBC.

I should probably unfriend him, thinking about it.

Trying to craft a joke in which ‘Fi’ can in some way mean ‘pro’ or ‘for’ so I can contrast Fifa with Antifa but I’m struggling and, tbh, I suspect that even if I nailed it, it wouldn’t bring about Trump’s downfall, the collapse of the Maga movement or even likes in double figures, so I admit defeat.

I challenge you to watch these three short clips, the end of the last one of which will leave you laughing out loud, and come away feeling anything other than complete admiration for this man's sincerity and bravery - and yes, bravery; he's made himself a target for the worst of Farage's supporters.

Anyone aware of this stat who's not super-rich and thinks Reform has their interests at heart is, I'm afraid, very foolish indeed.
🔴 Nigel Farage’s Reform is more reliant on super-rich backers than any major party in modern British political history

75% of *all* Reform donations *ever* have come from just three rich men

Is this what democracy looks like?

Something being ‘politically motivated’ shouldn’t undermine it if it’s true. It explains it. If I overhear Dave at the Crown being racist, I’ll pick him up on it if I’m brave but I won’t tell the press. If I experienced it at the hands of someone wanting to be PM and I think he shouldn’t be, I will.
December 5, 2025 at 8:56 AM
Farage wants this to go away.

It shouldn’t. His character is fundamental if he wants to be PM, and it must be exposed.

It can only go away once he’s given an acceptable response:

1) A mea culpa, and I’ve learnt from this and changed; or

2) Convincing, consistent evidence 20-odd people are lying

Not for the first time, I’m being told that attacking Farage for his boyhood racism is futile. The opposite is the case, as you can see from how rattled he is by it.

And no, it’s not about persuading Farage fans anything, it’s about mobilising the non-voters and encouraging tactical voting.

What, apart from a Reform government that he thinks will serve his interests?
December 4, 2025 at 5:40 PM
Good work from Emma Barnett on #r4today in skewering Reform’s Richard Tice over Nigel Farage’s alleged racism. In one breath, as she points out, he highlights his and Farage’s supposed fight against antisemitism; in another, he simply dismisses the account of a Jewish man who says he was a victim.
