This may very well be part of the reason why collective action is lagging despite desperate need and plenty of available labor

Apparently the Trans Match starts early now: 3p, not 7 like it used to. I wonder when that changed.

Doomscrolling won’t change the world. Joy might. Delight is the real glitch in the system. The world is built to keep you overwhelmed, pissed off, & too drained to do anything about it. But joy? Joy throws everything off. It catches people off guard. It spreads faster. It makes change feel possible.

Anyhow, I try to find small, concrete things to do so I can avoid panicking, so right now, that small thing is buying cookies from transgender Girl Scouts. As a bonus, I will also have cookies.

This year, consider ordering your Girl Scout cookies from a trans girl scout to make their day!

Wow, is my stream full of woe today.
Like many others, I've concluded that doom scrolling is terrible for my mental health and have mostly noped out of this conversation, choosing to focus instead on content that is (while realistic) empowering and/or useful.
Let’s talk about resistance after a conqueror takes power. Specifically let’s talk about this bendy yellow building, and what it shows us about the moment the Florentine Republic finally fell to its kleptocratic/proto-capitalist banking-fortune Medici conquerors 1/?

@sarahdoppify.bsky.social Maybe it was about this
I barely hang out on social media anymore (Instagram don't count, it's just pics there), but I've been active this week here. I think I've been feeling nostalgic for the days of Livejournal, early Twitter & text comms. I'll go back to ignoring all my feeds by Monday. Getting old and soft, I guess.

Haven't had time to post much about this, although I should have with Nosferatu fever but... once upon a time I read a decadent, queer, extremely erotic Gothic novel inspired by Dracula and written by a Mexican author. It was the 90s and I was a teenager. And my eyes popped out of my sockets.
