...Bluesky, the new one. Look for me, Jimmy Humble. My email is jimmy@pacific.net. And I love you guys. Thank you for enjoying my show. I won’t answer the phone today. So...

may you have Peace and Love in your life." [9/9]

You know. I’m just going to take a different seat on the bus, so to speak. And look forward to new things.

Perhaps you don’t know, I’m an oil painter. I like to paint my local area. And you can find pictures of mine–I take photographs of them–Jimmy Humble on Facebook, or... [8/9]

...down to the station in Philo and there would be people around, back-slapping, howdy, everybody in the team working together and being a community. Community is important to me.

And I want to be a part of it. I am not going to leave the radio station. I’m going to still support it. [7/9]

And I don’t think that’s going to happen. So, that’s it.

I think if Rich hadn’t been let go so suddenly I might have stuck around a little while longer, just waiting for the right moment. But this turns out to be the right one.

There used to be a scene here, you know. Where you’d come... [6/9]

I’ve been hoping that things have been getting better, but they haven’t. Not really.

There was autocratically, kind of stupid decision to let Rich go last week. And in solidarity I’m going to just let my show go. The only way I’m going to come back is if they bring Rich back. [5/9]

And the other reason is, recently we had a firing here at the radio station of Rich Culbertson. He was our Operations Director. And maybe, I don’t know how long ago it was that Alicia Bales had been let go. And thing haven’t been right since then. [4/9]

...everyone who’s been in my–the other side of the microphone. Thank you for being there for me.

I’m going to retire, give it up. For two main reasons. One, I’ve been thinking about it a long time. Things have been changing and life moves on. [3/9]

I have profound respect for the courage and principle it took for Jimmy to make this decision and take this action.
Solidarity is love.

Here's a transcript of his announcement:

"I’ve enjoyed doing this show over the years. It’s been my pleasure. I’ve discovered a lot, and I want to thank... [2/9]

I agree! If he is willing and up to it, I will do an interview with Rich next week for my podcast Unmanageable. Stay tuned!

KZYX is obviously at a crisis point, and trust for station management is at an all-time low. Rural stations like KZYX are a lifeline! I hope the programmers will stay strong, refuse to be censored, and stand up to management's efforts to silence any real discussion about the station. [7/7]

I have been told that even the station listserv is being policed by Polkinghorn, who is hoping to eliminate the ability of programmers to comment and discuss Rich's termination, allowing only management to post. She even had the gall to claim it was what Rich would have wanted! [6/7]

Now obviously, the community is VERY concerned about the events taking place at our community radio station. KZYX is a community institution that has served rural Mendocino County for 35 years. [5/7]

...nichey to the public at large and personnel matters are confidential. PERIOD. If you have something to say about anything regarding personnel, send it my way and/or to the board.
Any calls regarding personnel will be cut off.
