Watched the Devil May Cry anime the other night.
I liked it a decent amount.
But I've definitely heard some people say they dislike it, and I get why.
REALLY awkwardly handled allegory in this for War on Terror racism that was not thought out carefully enough.

Started playing Trails From Zero recently. Really good shit. I've missed Trails since beating the Sky trilogy a while ago. Falcom knows how to do some fantastic worldbuilding.

Spent my Pi Day stream playing Commander Keen 1-3 for some pals on Discord. Good times. (Even if 3's design is worse than I remembered)
This game was one of those odd ones where it was well before my time arguably, but I grew up on it cause my older brother did. Influenced my imagination as a kid.

Pankraz's death in Dragon Quest 5. This powerful fighter who could easily win a fight stands perfectly still, throwing the battle and letting two monsters tear him apart, because the evil bastard leading them has a scythe at his son's throat.

So Blade Chimera's rad. Team Ladybug's put out some of the prettiest looking metroidvanias in a kind of odd set of licenses for a while now. Most of them were pretty short and sweet, but its REALLY cool seeing them make something more substantial like this. Also combat's just super fun in this game.

... Having said that, godDAMN IT Falcom.
Like, I'm obviously excited for more of the game, cause I DID love it.
But 60 bucks was already spent to get me this game and I'm irritated I'm gonna probably need to buy it at full price next year to get the full experience. Bullshit planned obsolescence.

I recently finished up playing Ys X: Nordics. My optimism for it was cautious, but it kinda blew me away. Its not dethroning VIII fully in my eyes yet but its a contender for best game in the series. (And keep in mind: VIII is maybe my favorite game of all time. That's a big claim from me.)

Phases of the Moon Knight #2 came out today, and godDAMN this art. Jed Mackay's story is a flashback to the 80s era of the book, and to that end, he got Jorge Fornes onboard drawing something that looks straight out of a book of that era. (Legit looks like Mazzucchelli or some shit, it rocks.)
