I was a huge Regina Spektor fan in the past. I remember the stuff she posted on instagram in the days following October 7 and I know she was in pain but…it made me unfollow. It was too much.

mamdani and i are the same age. we were literal CHILDREN when 9/11 happened, and he was living in nyc. implying that this wasn’t a profoundly impactful/traumatic event for him, like it was for all us kids living in the nyc metro area, is levels of fucked up i cannot fathom.

One of my favorite belongings is Bill Moyers’ personal copy of The Onion’s 2003 compendium, signed by all the editors. I found it at a used book store.

just read this poignant manga series about a manga editor finding a new start after his magazine folds. it’s called tokyo these days. only three volumes. really liked it.
