Bari absolutely rocks. Her two ideas for stories are "I have this famous person's phone number" and "I heard libs were doing some weird stuff out there." Absolutely replacement level suburban dunce.

the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.
Lmao is this supposed to be a bad thing?

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13
The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

I feel like personal narratives of this sort have largely jumped the shark, but this is a brutally honest and fascinating introspection about codependence from Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/a...
Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert on leaving her marriage for a dying friend: ‘She said, Let’s just live balls to the wall until I die!’
One was a happily married and internationally famous writer, the other a cool, funny hairdresser and ex-drug addict. Then a shock diagnosis pitched them into an intense love affair ...

Eleven more libraries will reopen on Sundays, thanks to the leadership of the City Council. They never should've been closed in the first place.

As Mayor, I'll end this absurd budget dance that keeps our beloved libraries in limbo year after year.
11 more NYC libraries will soon open on Sundays
A $2 million City Council deal will expand seven-day service to more than 30 branches citywide.
