Who knew acrylics, textured paint and canvas could be so much fun? Might start taking commissions soon! #IslamicArt #Caligraphy #Beginner

Sat in the motherland but brain still processing NHS news. Things are v bleak at the moment-yesterday’s “briefing” did little to lift the gloom.
Still there’s a few more days of chai, gorgeous sunsets and time with the extended family to enjoy before we shift to the UAE for week 2! #WeekendMubarak

Seems poignant that today of all days I get confirmation of my entry- the marathon wasn’t a possibility unfortunately- even though the year will be ‘26, I will be doing 13 miles at the London big half. Raising funds once again for @medicalaidpal.bsky.social - link/running spam coming soon!

Long week. But a good one. Felt good to be out of the office and learning again. Haven’t really considered what I do as OD- but after the first module of the @thekingsfund.bsky.social Advanced OD practitioner programme, starting to think differently. Looking forward to the next module in November!

End of a long old week. In Manchester on Tues, addressing the new ‘25 GMTS cohort, with SMT colleagues yesterday trying to balance new work,a spend moratorium&an impending acceleration in the NHSE-DH change programme, and the RHO road show on ethnicity pay gap today… I’m knackered! 😴 #WeekendMubarak

Just reliving my youth/trying to give this 30 year old hunk of junk a bit of a glow up

Rare day where I could see the impact of my efforts by the time 5pm rolled around. Learned a couple of things. 1- seats are much heavier than I realised and 2- you have to be a lot more flexible than I am if you want to do some spannering on a car! Before during and after images below 😎

Went for a walk in the Yorkshire dales yesterday and stumbled across a waterfall…
Back to work today and mercifully I didn’t have a full on day which was just what I needed!

Couple of days off to recover from a full on weekend. As an introvert, having 25+ folk round for an extended family BBQ was hard. The news cycle over the past day has been fairly heavy also-esp for us NHS types looking for clarity.Been encouraging my team take their annual leave-so I’m doing as I say!

And as they say- when you go to a car event- always check the car park. Some of the highlights….

Lovely morning in the presence of the some of the greatest cars to wear the prancing horse badge. LaFerrari has so many intricate details, Enzo is ageing beautifully but the F40 is the absolute King- for me nothing else comes close 🥰😍🥰

Long old week- highlights included bumping into a former top gear presenter/ living legend in the gym, flying visit to the big smoke, and this mornings 6am jog/walk that ended with me drooling over a street parked 612 Scaglietti (the universe is talking to me). Ready for a rest! #WeekendMubarak

Oasis. Wembley. Last minute tickets and a night that will live long in the memory. At times a Kevin&Perry convention,at times like being 17 again. An evening of escapism that was much needed given the state of the world. Now for a long lie down. My back is telling me I’m definitely not 17 anymore!

After many years driving past its namesake in Bradford, finally made it to the Alhambra in Granada. What a magnificently beautiful place. Took about 1000 photos, none of which adequately capture the stunning detail everywhere you look 🤩🤩🤩

Seville. Quite nice! Temp is about 5-7 degrees too hot for my liking tho 🥵Heading off to Granada now…

Lovely start to a week away from the laptop. Went for a mooch around Cordoba- the cathedral has such an interesting history.
A converted mosque that once inspired the great Alaama (Mohammed) Iqbal- so many signs of its former life are still evident.
The tour continues onwards towards Seville today..

It was roasting so definitely no need for a jacket. Phew. I did get myself a cup of chai tho- that’s subcontinental conditioning- cup of hot tea on a hot day cools you down!

In for an interesting day today. It’s nice to get an opportunity to spend time out from the daily grind-and I think I spotted @hpiandycowper.bsky.social in amongst the 300 or so folks here….

Got some respite/ escape from the craziness going on in the world this weekend by spending the longest day of the year smashing up a shed, and then transporting it to the tip… inside another shed 🤣
June 22, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Day off and foolishly kept my teams and email notifications on. Big mistake. Almost got in the way of the important task of the day- cleaning the car. Spending a sunny day outside messing around with my car was just what I needed!

….and the Henley Business School Senior Leaders Apprenticeship Diploma for EDI leads is live! Took us a year of solid work to get this off the ground-really enjoyed delivering a session for the cohort at their starter workshop. The Greenlands campus is such a nice space. The drive home was fun!

Last week was a bit intense. Lovely to be a speaker at the 2023 GMTS graduation event, then 2 days of Confed/Expo, where I met some awesome people-both old colleagues and friends and some new faces.
Wrapped up in Brum at the library. Stunning building🤩
This week-a few days off and another adventure…

Spent yesterday eve fettling the old Rover-swapped out the knackered steering wheel with a good used one, and finally swapped the rubbish front grille with a standard replacement. Today I’m going to attempt to drive to Manchester in it-with old cars every trip is an adventure!
