Step off, Fawcett.

It is becoming clear that City Hall will largely be inner city councillors vs. suburban councillors. Unfortunately, suburban councillors outnumber inner city councillors 3 to 1. Even though Calgary's downtown contributes to the tax base far more than 3 to 1 relative to the suburbs.

Going to put this here for no reason whatsoever. We need an updated version stat.

Let's not take our downtown for granted, Calgary.

Turn off all your lights, Calgary.

Because Communities First is a UCP-backed party... they'll never criticise the province.

Alien invasion of it's the start of hail season in Calgary.

The Altadore ospreys have returned.

I spoke to an old-timer last year that said there have been pairs of osprey nesting in the same area for 50+ years.

I'm surprised this hasn't made national headlines.
April 16, 2025 at 1:05 AM
"Alberta Health Services reverses course, says childhood cancer patients won't be deprived of food"

Does any headline symbolize the UCP government more than this?

While I'm a big supporter of voting strategically in progressive ridings... the NDP are not the choice in Confed. The Liberal numbers will only improve once the candidate is announced tomorrow too.

Was just about to let the dogs out in the backyard then I saw this little guy...

Good crowd for @liberalca.bsky.social candidate @lindsayluhnauyyc.bsky.social campaign launch in Calgary-Centre tonight.

It's hilarious to me that a man who has been an MP for nearly half of his 45 years... is using this slogan.

He got his pension in his early 30's. You be hard pressed to find another candidate for PM who was less blue collar in the history of Canadian politics.

I can only assume that Rick is talking about Stephen Harper, the dude that ushered in FIPA, which gave China the ability to buy as much of Canada as they wanted without a reciprocal deal.

The chap who sold the Wheat Board to the U.S. and Saudis.

The PM who sold the Potash Corp. to Australians.

Looks like folks aren't loving the UCP selling our mountains and rivers to Australian coal billionaires. Full house at town hall tonight.

It's almost comical...

Alberta taxpayers are going to end up paying for O'Leary's data centre, aren't we?

What is true though is that during the Syrian Civil war the Islamic State did try to ban croissants.

In conclusion... Sylvain Claudius Goy, a French chef seems to have been the father of the croissant we all now know and love.

Reading this book today. The book talks about how croissants originated in Hungary. A shocking revelation!

It seems to be false though. The legend goes that Turkish forces attempted to capture Budapest. They failed. Hungarian bakers created a pastry shaped like the Ottoman flag in celebration.

This is the river and the country that will be impacted by the UCP's decision to allow foreign multinationals to plunder our resources.

Tell me it's not worth fighting for.

Bucket list stuff yesterday getting to see Villa in the Champions League. 40+ years of supporting Villa, and I'd never have thought I'd be gutted with a 0-0 draw with Juventus. UTV.

Was given this book from 1944 recently.

It has a comprehensive and interesting list of fly patterns.

My favourites: Mormon Girl, Tootle Bug, Professor Quaker, Tup's Indispensable, Sassy Cat, Preston's Fancy, Parmechene Beau, Little Marryat, Governor Alford, Dark Stone Despair, Jungle Cock...
