Renter, Latina, girl on the bus, ex-waitress, current Seattle City Councilmember for Position 8. Paid for by Alexis for Seattle - This is a campaign account only.
When you ask voters to choose between corporate profits and protecting our neighbors – it’s not even close. This year, Seattle voters chose the tax corporations to fund social housing (63%) and to pass the Seattle Shield Initiative to protect our neighbors (71%). Let’s keep it going!

We deserve better. Dehumanizing our neighbors by using photos of them on their worst days without their consent is unacceptable. We have a lot of work to do to address homelessness, but this only moves us further from that goal by othering real people in an attempt to score cheap political points.

I will always be a champion for mental healthcare. You never know when you might need this kind of support, and stigma can prevent people from getting the help they need. So the best way to combat stigma and expand access right now is to proudly say YES to a Crisis Care Center in our City!

Bumped into former SDOT director @spottnik.bsky.social on my walk to the bus this morning and we had to take a picture next to this excellent pairing of signs!

This is a small action you can take today to take a stand in defense of free speech. Join the boycott.

If you’ve already cancelled, sound off in the thread. 🧵

Today is the 1 year anniversary of the G Line opening. It feels like yesterday I ran out of my apartment to take this video! (The G stands for giddy because I was so excited)

Frequent transit is necessary for an accessible city that’s serious about its climate goals. Let’s make that a reality.

Governments must honor commitments to constituents—and that includes unhoused constituents. I’m grateful that 20+ electeds partnered w/ me in a call to remedy this situation.

Special TY to Rep. Farivar for visiting TC4 residents w/ me to center their perspective during this challenging situation.

Yesterday, I walked 27 miles— from the North to South borders of the City of Seattle. Along the way I:
- Dropped off food w/ Tent City 4
- Visited an SDOT crew doing road work
- Stood with UniteHere local 8 at their strike vote at the Edgewater Hotel
- Hung out with longshoremen at the waterfront
