I'd thought of Del. Herring as largely a FFX Co delegate w/ a bit of Alx City. Looking at the district map, it's more like 50/50 land area wise.
But looking at actual voters, it's 2/3 Alexandria City. The power of residential density!

Why do we have sharrows + unusable striped center lane instead of a painted bike lane east bound?
There’s a turn lane at Ft Williams, fine, but then it’s just wasted space

looking at street view and reminding myself what this area is like, i think the new proposal actually works better tbh
having a small park & retail w/ patios here will be a great gateway to the community as people arrive by train or the bikeway

yeah, it looked like the original plan envisioned this portion of retail along E Glebe.
neighbors wanted to get more open space out of this proposaland the way the devleopers did that was by consolidating the retail & open space on a site across the street from metro
