The bottom 6 is struggling out there. This is where Cody Glass' injury really becomes noticeable.
Trotting Lammikko and Glendening as your top-2 bottom-6 centers regularly makes it hard to at least win your minutes. Forget about scoring.

Meier, Mercer and Brown got murdered against the Bolts, and had another rough period in the 1st. Probably gonna need to get Gritsyuk with Meier & Mercer to give them some more play-driving ability

The #NJDevils might have something if they can stay out of the box. Penalties were the difference in the first period, but they were fine at 5v5.

First period started well, then went not well, then finished well with the Gritsyuk goal.
Interestingly, xGs were 50/50 between the two teams.

I need Sheldon Keefe to give Arseny Gritsyuk more of a look in the top 6. With Nico, with Jack, doesn't matter. He needs to be higher up in the lineup.

Markstrom was great tonight, but can def feel the effects of the injuries. Just getting Dadonov and Glass back would probably help a bit.

The #NJDevils' 1st period: not particularly great. But Jacob Markstrom was very good, and they found a way to take a lead into intermission.
