Not only did the Dem cave caucus give the green light for this terrible budget deal, but now the GOP knows they can shut down the govt, be blamed for it, and still the Dems will cave. They have no incentive to ever negotiate again. Thanks Dems.

Watching DTs constantly changing stance on tariffs, it made me think that if someone wanted to camouflage stock manipulation activity, one great way would be to have constantly changing tariff/trade/policy decisions. Hmmm.

Lots of talk on business news media about tariffs, and the claim that they are meant to bring back manufacturing jobs to US soil. In addition to the questionable basis for this claim (read Paul Krugman) there is zero talk of the higher consumer prices this would lead to.

A passing Sat morning thought. Regarding all of the discussion of the econ system which was developed out of WW II which greatly benefited US econ interests - this system was also designed to prevent/reduce armed conflicts. Question: As DT destroys this system, are armed conflicts now more likely?

Watching business news, they keep talking about the current market gyrations like it's a normal business cycle. None of the talking heads or guests ask the important question behind the moves - "why." Superficial analysis=Bad conclusions.

So the news is that Trump is working on a plan to bail out US farmers (hurt by his tariffs). So does this make farmers the new "welfare queens?" (I'm sure they would love that label)

You've got to love Trump's bully mentality. 1st, he imposed unilateral tariffs on China, & tells them to take it. China responds with reciprocal tariffs. Now Trump (who started the tariff war in the 1st place) is mad, & is threatening an added 50% tariffs unless China backs down. Always a bully.
