And for the record, my favorite Stephen King book is Salem’s Lot. Genuinely scary, and only like 750 pages. Quick read.

I read It last year, which is also like 1,200 pages. I honestly couldn’t stand It. The Stand, for all its flaws, is much better.

I definitely would be. Gracias.

I read the book two years ago. It suffers from a common Stephen King problem….it’s 1,200 pages long.

And I totally understand five seasons probably wasn’t feasible. The money and amount of time it would have taken would have been too much, but just do it in three seasons!

Totally agree. I still liked it a lot, but the problem was abandoning the original plan of doing five seasons, each taking place over the course of one year. Season 1 followed that structure, which is why it’s an all-time season of TV.

In all seriousness, you always wore solid pants. We’re never going to look back at a photo from 10, 20, 30 years ago and wonder what the hell you were thinking wearing some monstrosity on your legs.

She won’t run in 2028, but AOC is funny and relatable. Honestly, not many others in the Democratic Party right now. Well, Tim Walz is funny too.

It came out yesterday that the CFPB under acting director Vought is trying to GIVE BACK $105,000 it won from a mortgage lender accused of racial discrimination.

I’ve gone hog wild with some of my purchases. Just buying any old thing. I’ve slowed down considerably since Megan gave me a talking to, which she was right to do.

Nolan loves casting Tom Hardy, one of the world's greatest actors, and sticking him behind a mask for the entire movie.

that's such a massive inconvenience for you. All of this has made me very pessimistic about our future.

voters didn't like paying slightly higher prices. It tells me that people aren't willing to make the sacrifices necessary for us to implement the types of policies that will make poor and lower-income people better off. Same thing happened with COVID. I'm so sorry you had to wear mask. I'm sorry...

I hear all of that, and I agree in theory, but I've become so disillusioned by the response to moderately high-ish inflation that didn't even last that long. Inflation was a problem for all advanced economies, and the US outperformed them all, but Biden and the Democrats were punished because...
