Covid has massively increased respiratory deaths, but it doesn't have to be this way forever. We can: clean the air, encourage masking (and mandate in healthcare settings), and give paid time off.

How much plastic do you consume? Do you try to consume less? Less is what the world needs.

Even seabirds in remote locations, within weeks of birth, have so much plastic in them that they die.

We need to ban plastics for a majority of purposes, for our future.

There’s a lot of people who want to fight fascism yet won’t wear a mask

Fascism & eugenics go hand in hand. They’re coming for the disabled and chronically ill

Wearing a mask shows solidarity with disabled people, while also protecting your health so you’re better equipped for the fight

People can’t understand why we work so hard to maintain the tiniest function, but it’s because we know the pain of losing it.

The agony of setbacks that rob us of independence and autonomy.

Protect your baseline always.

YES! Cory Booker (again) is taking action. Action is what is needed here. Action is what is needed to craft the America that Americans deserve, not the one that Trump is leading them towards, like lambs to slaughter. Do not go gentle into that good night, America.

My personal opinion is that Poilievre can't be bothered to answer questions from journalists because he doesn't want the truth to be known. Why else would someone make it so difficult for journalists to ask him questions?

It will never cease to amaze me that wearing a mask was a deal breaker for many people.

It’s a powerful public health tool. It’s one of the most effective ways to avoid mass disablement. It keeps you & your community healthy. It shows you prioritize self care, disability justice & bodily autonomy.

He's right: the Boomers are dying. Who will lead America after Trump? Will it be another dinosaur-despot-wannabe, or someone who energetically, humbly, seeks to realize a vision for the betterment of ALL (not just wealthy)? Additionally, can the Democratic party actually progress/change?
Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"

I care about many political issues because they impact everyday people. This decision (below) - LITERALLY taking snacks from dying children - is so evil it's nearly unspeakably foul. I feel rage. What kind of people care so little about children that they try and extract cost savings this way?
Hey Alberta, let's talk about this 👇
Honestly? Has the govt lost what it means to provide the CARE in Health Care?🧵
We are currently starving many of our stranded ED hallway pts, but maybe ABs will rise up when they see we are denying kids w cancer?

Holy shit. Terrifying.

My personal opinion is that the cold-war never ended, it just changed forms (proxy wars, disinfo, hacking, etc). With Trump's 2nd term, Russia has essentially won.

I've never loved American imperialism, but Russian authoritarianism doesn't seem like a great replacement.
