Today, January 9, marks the 7-year anniversary of my PhD defence. It's almost unbelievable how quickly time passed. Three country moves, four universities - it was difficult at times, and I was barely hanging on. It is still difficult at times.
But I am still here. Still fighting ✊

I fell in love with anthropology through Thomas Hylland Eriksen's Small Places, Large Issues.
European anthropology is poorer, sadder, and lonelier without Thomas.
We shall remember him for the remarkable way he gave life - and anthropology - meaning.
