I think progressives have had a problem with "purity tests" (the need for all leaders to have tightly aligned perspectives or else stay quiet about it)
And I think the Democratic Party has had a problem with being...undemocratic - with too much power in the institution and not in the people.

Senator Booker is leading a highly visible charge against the Senate GOP and the Trump Administration. This kind of action is what the Dem base has been calling for since the election. But it’s just the beginning of the efforts needed to truly make a difference.

Newsom has been proving over and over that he’s the PERFECT candidate for the Dems as they stand right now, but a disaster for anyone who cares about winning elections or advancing progressive policy. We have got to move on from these Dem elites.

We need more civil leadership like President Carter. His integrity and willingness to do hard work for the good of the people will be sorely missed.
