Charles Claire LLP v Woolgar [2025] EWHC 1802 (Ch): commercial rep found liable for damages re deceit and for breach of Quistclose trust.
Note judge labels Quistclose trust 'Express Purpose Trust' but also agrees with/applies Lord Millett's resulting trust analysis..

Marcus v Marcus [2025] EWHC 1695 (Ch): appeal re if party within beneficial class of ‘children’ even though settlor unaware party not his biological son. Dismissing appeal, judge finds context displaces normal meaning of ‘child’; party is one of the settlor’s children

FS Capital v Adams [2025] EWCA Civ 53: fraud on a power and whether Jersey law would treat as void/voidable powers exercised for improper purpose. Asplin LJ provides thorough examination re English law; CoA finds yes, Jersey law would follow Cloutte ie. exercise void.

Free Grammar School of John Lyon v Attorney-General [2024] EWHC 2857 (Ch): Charity which runs Harrow School applies, via cy-près, to alter charity's objects. Judge finds all arguments re cy-près fail & neither does statute give power to amend Royal Charter.
