In LIFE, Year 8 spent recent weeks studying COP30 before running their own Model COP. Today’s year-group final featured five thoughtful, well-researched speeches. Congratulations to all the finalists, and special praise to 8SSV for winning the overall competition. A great showcase of their effort!

Will (Y12) completed the National Autism Society’s “100 Miles in October” challenge, walking at least 5km every day and totalling 121.9 miles. He raised £450 for the charity—an amazing achievement showing real dedication and resilience!

During half term, Kieran A (Y8) proudly represented the West Midlands at the Men’s Artistic National Setworks Championships 2025. He placed 20th All-Around, came 4th in the Physical Preparation Programme, and earned 13th on both the Parallel Bars and High Bar. A fantastic achievement!

Yesterday, Professor Derek Ward from the University of Birmingham Medical School visited our AGS MedSoc. He spoke with Year 12 and 13 aspiring medics, offering valuable advice on applications, interviews, and life as a doctor. We can’t wait to see their fantastic applications next year!

This morning, our school community gathered for a Service of Remembrance to honour all who have fought and sacrificed for our freedom. Wreaths were laid beneath the commemorative lime trees on our grounds, marking the end of the First World War.

Yesterday, Year 8 and 9 students auditioned for our Magistrates’ Court Competition team, delivering speeches for or against summer reading lists. Year 12 mentors will support the team. The standard of speeches was outstanding—the best we’ve seen yet! Congratulations to all who took part!
