yeah .... we had a similar experience with the last narrative game we played

meh. it's a tale as old as time; no one hates <thing> more than fans of <thing>.

I might...they're doing another system overhaul this next season with less enemy scaling
November 29, 2025 at 7:09 AM
Is it as bad as enemy scaling? It's lazy, negates several play styles, ruins player power trips, and just sucks. Never heard of someone liking that type of system. I'm sure those types of players exist, they're wrong.

I would fight for you
I'd lie for you
Walk the wire for you
Yeah, I'd die for you

Here's the kicker: If you succeed, you get a screen that says you made it back to the future...and your game is over. There's no credit roll or additional cut scene; you get a single screen of text before it goes back to the title screen. Back to the Future is garbage.

Sounds good, except for that last part. Regardless of how many lives you have at the DeLorean level, you only have ONE ATTEMPT to beat the game. If you fail, you get a screen that says you're stuck in the past and your game is over.

Every 4 streets, you play a level that's nominally inspired by the movie; fight off bullies at the ice cream shop, block your mom's kisses in school, play at the Enchantment Under the Sea, and finally drive the DeLorean to 88MPH.

At the same time, you need to collect clocks to make sure your picture doesn't fade. If you run into a fence or get hit, you fall down, lose some time, and lose your power ups. As the levels go on, the timer ticks faster to where you can only fall 2 or 3 times by the last street.

Back to the Future is high on the doodie list. You play as Marty trying to get back to the future. To do so, you walk down the street dodging bullies, bees, construction workers, and hula-hooping girls tossing shit at you. You can collect a bowling ball and skateboard to help you fight back.

this route also helped:
lv1: A2, B1
lv2: A3, B2
lv3: A1, B3
benefit is 1/2 cake at B2 then 1 cake at B3. this makes it possible to salvage the run if health is lost early on when combined with the 2 extends
November 14, 2025 at 3:41 AM
for me, the run comes down to beating Jitterbug without bombing to get 2 lives back. that gives me at least 7 bombs to spam Tyrannosatan.

and that's another one. I'm enjoying this game. I don't know if I want to learn a LV3 Death 1cc but the arcade mode mode feels like the right difficulty.

yep, there was raging and complaining, but we also got some good reps. i think this is possible with a little more practice. see you again on thursday.
