Fair point. Loans and grants to the EU, but still procure from the UK if something's not made elsewhere. Just so long as everyone keeps in mind the goal of Europe being able to defend itself without the US.

Agree in principle, but in practice the UK/EU defence industries are enmeshed. Rheinmetall has plants in the UK, Rolls Royce in Germany. Storm Shadow/SCALP is French/British/ Italian, Typhoon is German/British/Italian/Spanish etc. Brexit was idiotic but for defence we have to work around it.
