What’s Scotland supposed to do? Consult Nostradamus to find out how we have another referendum?

Rachel Reeves says that even if the SNP wins a majority on its own at Holyrood the UK government will still not permit another vote.

It’s a democratic outrage

Independent or remaining in the union, it's up to the people of Scotland to decide our own status as a nation.

I'm not sure on what authority Rachel Reeves thinks she can decide for us.
Scotland’s future is up to people who live in Scotland, not Rachel Reeves, Keir Starmer or any other Westminster politician.

Brilliant from the journalist. The most on-the-ropes I’ve ever seen Farage. His usual bluster tactic didn’t work. His uttering of ‘well, you wouldn’t’ when the journalist said ‘I don’t quite know what you mean’ was genuinely pathetic.

More of this please.

I think we all knew that the UK COVID inquiry would result in a stitch up of our First Minister. We were right.

What it highlights clearly is the ignorant, arrogant and dismissive attitude of Westminster - particularly No.10 - towards our Government.

So is ex Tory spin doctor and Boris Johnson appointee Sir Robbie Gibb now an impartial BBC board member? If so, why did he like an anti SNP tweet? Well the (Tory) ex BBC Chair told me Gibb’s finger accidentally passed over the “telephone” & “the heart got pressed.”

Comedy gold.

The BBC in Scotland has suppressed support for independence, which is supported by over 50% of Scots. The achievements of the Scottish government are omitted, ignored or talked down by unionist opposition parties. Many simply switch off because their news and current affairs are so dire!

Amid all the fuss, remember that for much of the 1960s and 1970s, "the Spare" Andrew Windsor was just one unfortunate incident away from being the next king.

Hopefully, this appalling saga will lead to a proper national debate on our hereditary monarchy.

Long, long overdue.

We have a national broadcaster that seems to spend its time running the nation down.

I can't imagine this would happen in any other country in the world.

Either the station should be reformed or shut down.

Also I notice it has a massive amount of news content relative to other BBC stations.
Disclosure: I too worked for BBC Scotland and still have genuine affection for it, but if it hopes to restore public credibility it needs to start embracing contemporary Scotland.

That's only about 60% of voters that never have any representation.

Balanced?

Very few videos sum up the British media as completely as this one. Lindsay Whittle won the election for Plaid Cymru in Caerphilly but he is ignored by all of the reporters apart from Teleri Glyn Jones for the BBC as they swarm around the Reform candidate (For once the BBC is in the right place!)

Just listened to Chris Mason on Radio 4 defending BBC's excessive coverage of Farage & Reform. I was outraged by his response to legitimate criticism. I no longer trust the BBC's political coverage (actually I haven't for some time, but the BBC's behaviour has grown even worse of late).

I've no idea what the accusations are, but also no surprise here, Kate Adams had her own agenda, that was clear to see.

Hopefully she will be replaced with someone who is able to fairly air all sides of the public debate in Scotland, and not impose their own.
