I’m good thanks 🫢

It’s quite mild still here so the trap will be going out for a while yet. #TeamMoth

It’s coming up to the end of the mothing season and the trap is out. Somehow I doubt I’m going to find anything close to any of this selection of my 2025 lifers in the trap . But it’s been a good year so I’ll count my blessings instead.

As a moth enthusiast I don’t think you should consider not taking a trap of some description wherever and whenever you travel in the U.K. I’ve just booked my NC500 trip for next year and am looking forward to putting some dots on my iRecord map up the top. Go for it.

Not sure that’s a completely accurate summary of what I actually said. That being said there was an unidentified micro that escaped which would count. Sort of.

Trawling through my butterfly photos I now find that I have seen, photographed and recorded 100 species in total. Many more to go of course.

The Herdwicks are doing their best to Conservation Graze some of the steeper slopes on Mill Hill, Shoreham. Hopefully this will allow some of the natural downland flora to return & improve the habitat for Adonis Blue & Chalkhill Blue butterflies. @southdownsnp.bsky.social

You need to consult an expert 🤔
😂😂😂
Either they’re breeding locally to me or there’s a direct flight path right over my house from the continent. Some seem very fresh to have flown far.

We are fortunate to live close by enabling us to visit several times each year. Autumn season is usually the best but it’s just coming to the end now and the leaves are falling.

Actually it’s a badly lit photo as you can’t see the golden colour at all. This one’s a little better
