Finally bitten the bullet and found my way here.

For those who don't know me, until last week I was a Liberal Democrat activist, but I resigned from the party to support Labour.

Sir Keir Starmer wanted the new term to mark 'phase 2'. This is not how he'd have wanted it to go down, but every problem is an opportunity - and this is an opportunity for the prime minister to reshuffle his team and show the country what 'phase 2' is all about.

I emailed my MP @naushabahkhanmp.bsky.social asking her to vote for @kimleadbeatermp.bsky.social's Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill.

I didn't get the 'yes' I was hoping for, but did get a considered response. Happy to see she's thinking it through, as an MP should.

I’ve seen a lot of Lib Dem MPs campaigning against the IHT changes to farms and don’t quite know how it fits with the preamble to their constitution:

Right to buy is one of the (many) causes of the housing crisis. While it helps get people who can afford it onto the housing ladder, it takes away vital social housing for those who cannot even afford to rent on the open market.

Reform of the system is vital.
NEW: MHCLG opens consultation on sweeping right to buy changes
🏠Council tenants to live in home for approx 10yrs (up fr 3) to qualify
🏠New-build social homes exempt
🏠1-for-1 replacement target for councils
🏠Discounts to fall further - to max of 20%
🏠Repaid if tenants sell w/in 10yrs, up from 5

Delighted that my 10 Minute Rule Bill on Aviation Accessibility passed its first reading today! 📜

Thank you to everyone that has sent supportive messages - I will continue to work with campaigners to ensure that these measures are passed into law.
