Not so fun fact about measles

Those who survive without immediate disability are still at risk for subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (fatal progressive brain inflammation) which can occur months to even years later

Fun fact about measles

Vaccination saves lives and brains
As of July 6, the United States reported 1,281 measles cases in 2025, the highest total since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000.

Next time someone asks, “What kind of asshole creates problems where there aren’t any and then calls it a win when the whole thing backfires and he backtracks?” you know exactly what to tell them.

You see this right here?

This is why they are never killing the ACA. They couldn’t do it in 2017 with a much larger House majority, and they won’t be able to do it now.
Well would you look at that.

Ever seen a live worm removed from a brain? Check out this case in the the Green Journal Neurology by Park and Paek. Headaches and vomiting in a defector from North Korea. Drinking pond water and eating raw snake. The brain mass migrated.

Just a reminder that in 2019, RFK Jr.'s anti-vaccine misinformation campaign helped cause a measles outbreak in Samoa that killed 83 people, mostly kids.

Do you really want him to lead the Department of Health and Human Services?

Check out the cortical contouring calcifications in the brain. This is a beautiful image that may surprise some of you, as you may not reflexively think about calcium in the brain depositing like this. (B–D) shows the 'pencil-like' lining of the cortex and periventricular white matter.

Thinking about those parents whose kid almost died of tetanus, and after receiving nearly a million dollars in care which included the tetanus vaccine, they declined to give him a preventative tetanus vaccine (or any other ones) post treatment. Kid was on a ventilator for 44 days
Unvaccinated boy nearly died from tetanus. The cost of his care was almost $1 million.
6-year-old was infected in 2017 while playing on the family's farm, the first case of tetanus in Oregon in 30 years, according to a CDC report.

An annoying percentage of interactions with insurance companies are essentially them saying “according to our criteria, you should do some malpractice instead of appropriate medicine. Have you considered that?”

So I guess since everyone’s onto how nefarious health insurance CEOs are, there’s a campaign to shift blame to physicians.

If you think there’s a single physician out there making $30k per hour, I have 30,000 bridges to sell you.

Tl;dr on Pete Hegseth, Trump's pick for the Department of Defense:

- Accused of raping a woman. Forced her silence with an NDA.
- Preyed on female staff and attended work events drunk.
- Ran a veterans nonprofit so far into debt they nearly went bankrupt.

This is disqualifying.

You may not understand why, but the healthcare insurance and PBM contracts YOU have signed for Tesla, SpaceX , @X, along with CEOs of other big companies , have more impact on healthcare costs and quality of care in this country, than anything you can do with DOGE
