Y’all simply MUST watch this documentary. I don’t even have the words… just watch it. You’re going to pause and take breaks but watch it.
I’m watching part one of “Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time” on Hulu and a community organizer pointed out that the evacuation order ahead of the storm came “at the worst time in America to be poor: the end of the month. If you don’t have any money, how can you leave?”

One of the best things about Mamdani is that he seems to view being around people as an opportunity rather than an obligation. While others politicians are avoiding calls, not holding town halls, and running from people, he is hosting a scavenger hunt and seems to enjoy interacting with people.

Meanwhile Cuomo/Adams can barely show their faces, and are currently fundraising in the Hamptons.

My colleague @bcrodriguez.bsky.social has done som e great pieces on ranked-choice voting over the years if you're intersted in how tonight's NYC mayoral primary worked. Including this one about how the practice led to more women on NYC's council: 19thnews.org/2021/07/wome... via @19thnews.org
Women are poised to have historic representation on New York City council. Experts credit ranked-choice voting
Results show at least 30 women candidates — most of them women of color — are leading in their primary races for the city's 51-member council.
