Technically I think any space that has more bikes than places to sit could qualify as a garage.

I like that this looks like a poster for a political drama that got a pretty decent review from one prestige publication and is really milking that.

If you were randomly swinging a hammer around on city streets and hit a kid so hard in the face that he needed stitches and dental surgery, you’d be charged for sure. But do it with your car and suddenly it’s just an “accident” nobody can do anything about.

when my kids were younger, I was nervous every day from about 3-3:30pm just waiting to hear that door swing open and the kid barge in - any my only fear was that of drivers on his walk home.

“I have taught my kids how to ride safely, he did everything right and still got hit."
This was a quote from his mom, and that mom is all of us.

I used to live right off Parkside, one of the best examples of this anywhere. Bloor was finally making moves towards rebalancing in favour of local users, we don’t even have that in Winnipeg.

Seriously gorgeous!

Even with the haze and city lights, the view was briefly pretty spectacular in Winnipeg. So much red!

People always use that to detour off Osborne and rip down Churchill and back onto Osborne. Google maps even suggests it. I'm sure it sucks for the neighborhood.

This is terrible for this young boy.

100%. All of the reasons this is a dangerous intersection and road are to make it better serve the people driving through from the south, not the people who actually live here.

The result is part of the continuing tragedy of our roads. Impatient drivers, inattentive drivers, dangerous drivers, yes. But also dangerous roads, a failure to separate vulnerable road users from dangerous cars, and no consequences for those drivers when they drive dangerously.

That corner is Osborne and Brandon Ave, the turn for Churchill Dr. A driver headed southbound turned left into Jakob. She said she had the sun in her eyes. She didn’t yield to a ten year old in the crosswalk.

Jakob is 10. He was riding his bike to school. “I have taught my kids how to ride safely, he did everything right and still got hit. That’s an awful corner, people are watching for an opening in traffic and not watching for pedestrians or cyclists,” his mom, Crystal, told us.

Wow, the last quote in that image. Is there any other weapon for which the technological increases in deadliness have been attributed to suicidal choices of its unwitting victims?
