It's always members of the professional class, especially academics and lawyers here, that have a vested interest in the system and whose entire worldview is constructed around established institutions. You never see poor people calling others "doomers," no matter how much they're suffering.

The reality is that all of these cretins that insist on repeatedly doing the same shit that brought us to the precipice are dooming all of humanity. The folks that see what's happening aren't doomers. The people that are causing this because they see no other way forward are the real doomers.

Considering what a complete fart in the bath it was for Victory Heat Rally despite Stonetoss personally pitching it to his cockroach audience after his little Charlie Kirk piss-fit and my response to it, I'd have to agree.

You cater to bigots, you're catering to people who neither appreciate nor pay for art. You get precisely one moderate sales bump, and then you're stuck with them and the negative goodwill they produce. Look at the other sellouts and how much they have to beg and plead after that first hit.

I will also admit that I'm so wrapped up in actually playing and looking at games that I often don't look too deeply at who's making them. Maybe a flaw, but it keeps me sane. I don't dig into community discords, and tend to avoid fandom drama.

I've had a couple industry people message me saying stuff like 'Oh, you didn't know about the Peripeteia devs?'.

People assume that because I'm a broadly progressive voice that talks about videogames that I'm part of all the industry whisper networks.

No, people don't tell me shit.

It's funny/sad that there's about a 50/50 split on responses to this mess. Half are 'What the hell, I just assumed Peripeteia was by trans lesbians' and the other half are 'I knew it, the game was made by chan edgelords'.

And the game gives off both signals which, honestly, implies the former to me

Also for a little broader context, Peripeteia is by a three-person team. Two which have been involved from the start (Ouroborous/Snaketicus is the one in the screenshots), and one who joined later to help with engine coding.

One huge asshole in a team that small is enough for me to tap out.
