Here's how much they were making before and the state legislature said the new state bill amounted to a ~20% increase in wages

It also included some of the strongest insurance provisions for drivers in the nation.

$14.48 + 20% = $17.38
State labor department's rideshare analysis recommends minimum pay standard
Among the report's findings: rideshare drivers in the Twin Cities metro area earned an average of just shy of $14.50 per hour in 2022, taking into consideration such things as time spent without an ac...

What's the average payment for rideshare drivers in Minneapolis, do you have that figure?

Or are you making shit up to be mad at?
September 6, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Over the minimum wage*
September 6, 2025 at 3:19 PM
...why do you think that is? ...based on what I just told you...
September 6, 2025 at 3:13 PM
The council did the calculations before they had the rideshare data and they turned out to be wrong and overpaid the min wage
September 6, 2025 at 3:02 PM
1) prove it, put up or shut up

2) the current bill in place is a statewide bill that was passed through the MN legislature
September 6, 2025 at 12:53 PM
It's bad policy to arbitrarily force rideshare companies to pay more than the legal minimum wage and the market rate.

You should take a look within yourself and ask, "Why do I hate poor people so much?" Or, "Why do I support policy that harms poor people?".
September 5, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Bad bills get fixed, I'm sorry you want bad policy
September 5, 2025 at 1:29 PM
What? Do you know what the average hourly rate is in MN right now?

If you can't answer that question with a source and a number, you should really consider shutting the fuck up because you have zero clue
September 5, 2025 at 1:28 PM
Oh yeah, and Walz had to pass a real bill statewide rideshare because the city council is not functional and when it is, it sucks
September 5, 2025 at 12:41 PM
Rent control hurts poor people, dumbass. It increases rents long term by reducing supply. That's one bad thing among another 5 or 6 items.

The rideshare ordinance was bad and they did their wage calculation wrong and WITHOUT THE RIDESHARE DATA. Of course it got vetoed.

Fateh who isn't polling too hot?

I'm gonna laugh when the best candidate wins again (Frey) and we still have the best housing markets because we didn't choose the empirically bad housing policy
September 5, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Uhh most people are not and the reform shouldn't be rent control because it makes housing supply issues worse

This also isn't a national issue, because we aren't going to do rent control nationally
September 5, 2025 at 12:10 PM
You are incredibly stupid. I'm so sorry for everyone that has to interact with you
September 5, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Believe it or not, trying to claim some sort of experience based high ground about living in the area that we're talking about is really stupid when the other person you're talking to also lives in Minneapolis.

It's clear you have no idea what you're talking about. And the data agrees.
September 5, 2025 at 3:15 AM
You mean in Minneapolis where average rents have decreased relative to inflation since the pandemic and supply has increased?

Those policies? Those sound good to me. Do they sound bad to you?

We have one of the best housing markets in the entire country.
September 5, 2025 at 2:48 AM
What's the consensus on rent control again? That it sucks ass?

How do you rationalize pushing for a proven terrible policy?

Minneapolis has one of the best housing markets in the US.

I think we'll pass on that one

Our rents have decreased relative to inflation since the pandemic

Hi will, I might have recommended it before, but hank green did a video about this same idea

Populism, Media Revolutions, and Our Terrible Moment
This is one of those videos that you could just keep writing forever but I guess I recently had cause to decide to finish it. I waffle back and forth about whether we are on the quick path or the long path here. What seems clear is that, if all trust gets destroyed, reality starts to matter a little less and people pick the reality that the refer. What Renee DiResta calls "Bespoke Realities." It's going to take time to put the pieces back together, but I do think that, when we do, it will be a better world. It's just that, most days, I think that's going to take forever. Good, now push for some democrat gerrymandering.

Fight fire with fire. The squirt gun of strongly worded statements is a disservice to the American people.

I don't know if there's any stopping the presidential pardon hurricane at the end of this admin

Hopefully something really bad happens to him first
