Weapons: Julia Garner 😍. I don't think there's much there there thematically.

Nashville: I love when a hyped film meets if not surpasses its rep.

Nosferatu: A rewatch because I read Blood on Her Tongue by Johanna van Veen.

High and Low: See Nashville. That blocking!

Did a tiny post on a few of the connections between the film Ganja & Hess, directed and written by Bill Gunn, and the novel My Soul to Keep by Tananarive Due. www.instagram.com/share/_kpWIW...

Started The Gilda Stories x Jewelle Gomez. Can't help but think that if more people read books by Black writers they would be less impressed by what's written for Black characters in white run shows with scripts adapted from white authored books.

'There is a shame in being highly interested in something and unable to convey it to others, to evoke the same degree of interest in them and to convince them that it is warranted.'

Who told me to read Elspeth Probyn this morning?

Started with Bram Stoker's Dracula. I think everything I love about the show has more to do with it (the use of interviews, journals, plays) than Anne Rice's book. 🤷🏾‍♀️😅

Back in The Box for a review. About a box and its people in a snow burdened city. It's weird. (Best thing, obvi.) There's art, climate change, riddles, objects exerting their own will...

Notations get out of control. I'll have to get a proper copy: The ARC cannot withstand my generous attention. 💙📚

Every time I wish to write about something I decide I must read one or two other books to do so and I don't know that this is sustainable.

Wanna try and finish up The Galaxy Game x Karen Lord today to dive into her latest of the Cygnus Beta novels: The Blue, Beautiful World.

I thought I was merely being a conscientious reviewer by reading the earlier works but word on the street is you'll be lost in the latest book without them.

I signed a contract for an article of mine to be published in an online magazine I have read since I was a baby undergrad. I am slightly terrified...a no doubt silly response I ought to overcome soon.
