OTD 1981: Silicon Graphics is incorporated. 2 years later, the IRIS 1000 shipped with the "Geometry Engine".
TIL the IRIS networking first used XNS (Xerox) protocols, not TCP/IP. Fixed in a later release :-)

the 1971 version evolved from class notes of Princeton's Statistics 191 course starting in 1968.
