Watching videos of Thatcher being interviewed I always find astonishing how high-brow her arguments are. Even Reagan could write an excellent speech and he was mocked for being a fool. And that's before we get to Jenkins, Wilson, etc.

We have got to make politics intellectual again. It is the only way that societies thrive is when politicians have the capability to actually think and reflect deeply:

I think we're going to need a state of exception after all this where we clean up the garbage, and then everyone involved walks away from politics and we just don't talk about it.
