AirClim is a Swedish-based NGO dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges posed by air pollution and climate change. Our mission is to advocate for emission reductions to levels that humans and the environment can sustaine.
🔥 On the hottest day of the year, the EU dropped its updated Climate Law — but instead of real climate action, it doubles down on offsets and unproven tech.

We say: No to loopholes. No to burning forests. Yes to real emissions cuts.

Ocean acidification more advanced than previously thought
New research co-led by PML, NOAA, CIMERS OSU and the University of Maryland provides new evidence on the severity of ocean acidification.

#WorldOceansDay – Ocean acidification is continuing to increase; the oceans have become 30% more acidic since the beginning of the industrial area, with mayor threats to ocean fauna and flora due to CO2 emissions from burning fossil fuels – see WMO key indicator pH (page 9).

Great to see our report "Addressing challenges in the land sector under the Paris Agreement" getting attention!

Bill Hare & Claudio Forner highlight why land carbon can’t offset fossil fuel emissions — storage is temporary, emissions are permanent.
Including land and forest carbon sequestration together with fossil fuels and other emissions in national climate targets will likely allow for greater emissions of fossil fuel carbon, and put the 1.5°C limit further at risk.
Governments shouldn't rely forests to meet their emissions goals
Some countries rely on forests and their carbon storage to deliver on their climate targets, a risky approach that could see fossil fuel emissions rise

Important new report from @climateanalytics.org – written on behalf of us at with support from The Swedish Postcode Lottery Foundation 🌳 It shows how land sector accounting can mask real fossil fuel emissions. Time for more transparency to stay on track for 1.5°C! #ClimateAction #NetZero
🚨 NEW Report: the way the land sector is included in national climate targets is masking the real fossil fuel emissions cuts needed to keep 1.5°C in reach.

Here’s the lowdown and what governments can do to fix it 🧵⤵️
Addressing challenges in the land sector under the Paris Agreement
This report examines how loose land-sector rules under the Paris Agreement enable countries to overstate carbon removals and delay essential fossil fuel emissions cuts.

🌍 The annual PM2.5-survey is out!

Key takeaways:
🔸 99% of people breathe unhealthy air
🔸 8.1 M deaths linked to air pollution.
🔸 Only 12 countries meet WHO guideline
🔸 Some improvements in India & China

Air pollution is a global crisis—we must act! 💨💙

This week, along with partner organisations BEUC, EPHA and Eurogroup4Animals, we shone a spotlight on the
European Commission.

Why? It's not delivered key 'Farm to Fork' promises made to Europeans. And we can't eat broken promises!
