Daniel Penny is free after killing a man victim to the system. What of Luigi Mangione, who is suspected of killing a man symbolic of it?

Syria is under martial law, South Korea was under martial law last week, Trump has proposed prosecuting January 6th investigators, and the FBI is warning that China is actively hacking the text messages of millions of unwitting Americans. Here's why our lead story is about a dead CEO.

Syrians: we are free from Assad!

The US Gov: self determination is a beautiful thing.

Syrians: it will take some time and we will come together and figure this out.

The US gov (immediately after preaching self determination): you are self determining wrong, here are some exploding bombs.

This is super weird, but I had the fastest service while contacting United Healthcare today than I ever have in 15 years. I thought with the CEO gone, the entire company would be inoperable? 🤔🤔

Well, this is interesting. It looks like one of the groups approved to disburse Missouri tax money to private religious schools is using half of the money for administrative costs and payroll.

School choice is a scam.
Of the $6,000,000 listed on the Herzog Foundation’s taxes, roughly $2,000,000 actually went to private schools (the Foundation’s raison d’être) in 2023 ($860k to one school btw). They spent just over $2,000,000 on payroll alone for their whopping staff of 14 employees. School choice is a scam.

The folks who say they want “small government” actually want the government in everybody’s business…

Small government means no regulation for businesses — it doesn’t apply to anyone or anything else.

Do you love not waking up in the middle of surgery in absolute pain? Well, too bad! If you live in NY, CT, or MO and are insured by Anthem BCBS, starting Feb 1, they will limit how much anesthesia you’re covered for! 🥰🥰🥰

www.asahq.org/about-asa/ne...
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield Won’t Pay for the Complete Duration of Anesthesia for Patients’ Surgical Procedures
In an unprecedented move, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield plans representing Connecticut, New York and Missouri have unilaterally declared it will no longer pay for anesthesia care if the surgery or procedure goes beyond an arbitrary time limit, regardless of how long the surgical procedure takes. The American Society of Anesthesiologists calls on Anthem to reverse this proposal immediately.

Loving Skeleton Crew so far, but why did they have to write the main character to be so unlikeable? He consistently puts himself first. I hope to eat my words, but how will he have that much character development in 6 eps, that we can forgive him for saving the day after he leads pirates back home?
