I recently gave a presentation to some ID first years about design sketching and the value of loose but clear communication. It was so nice to chat with the young designers and encourage them to push the boundaries of design sketching.

this is a great thread! I don't critique portfolios professionally and I'm not involved in hiring (and I'm up front about that when asked), but occasionally someone will want me to take a look at con and I've noticed these same issues in a lot of folks' presentations!
An artist reached out to me about sending their comic portfolio. I don't have time for in-depth critique, but was willing to see what they were capable of.

While interning at ELEVEN we had a slow week. One of my mentors—and future coworkers—challenged me to model an organic, hard-to-surface product to learn Rhino. During this week we built such a strong foundation in the program, and now it’s my go to for lightning fast design. #designsky #design
