Issue polling does not work. Know your values, frame the debate.
really key point. polls, particularly issue polls, are a WILDLY unrealistic way to measure how people actually interact with political messaging these days

We live in sad times. While the Mayor was cutting a ribbon on the Takoma section of the Metropolitan Branch Trail, federal law enforcement was abducting someone just down the way on the Trail and by a school.

My take is that there’s this distinct email syntax along many Boomers that is born of the idea that email is not a real conversation, and thus complete sentences are never necessary
Had the same reaction. Did I miss something where everyone rich and famous sends emails that are incomprehensible gibberish?
Seen a few of the epstein emails now, all with different people and it's not the main issue here but is everyone illiterate

Unlike some AI slop problems, I remember this already being an issue 7-8 years ago. Something fraudulent would sometimes show up first in my custom New Music playlist weekly. It’s like they were training us to not accept better from streamers
“This feels like the only transaction that you can do on the internet that doesn’t involve a password or some kind of authentication, and it’s a really important one, and it’s across the entire music streaming ecosystem.”
Why Is It So Easy to Flood Streaming With AI Slop?
And what the hell is Operation Clown Dump?

NEW: Dems easily flipped the sheriff's office in Pennsylvania's Bucks County, a big swing county in the Philly suburbs.

So? The incumbent GOP sheriff had contracted with ICE. His Dem challenger promised to end the contract.

Now he wants other swing-state Dems to look at his victory as a lesson:

A populous, swing county replaced its GOP sheriff on Tuesday after months of controversy over his joining ICE’s 287(g) program. The Democratic winner promises he’ll end the contract.

I’ve voted 7 times to reopen the government in a way that holds Trump accountable for his lawlessness and prevents a health care crisis.

I’m prepared to work toward a compromise, but this “deal” before us does not come close to meeting those terms. Voting NO.

If the non-caving Democratic Senators are really as irate as they anonymously claim to the press, they should call a leadership vote & oust Schumer. Anything less is acquiescence.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

One thing the NYC mayoral race underscored for me is how easily the phrase "I don't feel safe" can be weaponized. It's an argument I would hesitate ever to use again, even for a good cause. I hope we can all agree that we have the right to BE safe. Maybe we should leave it at that.

The Democrats won several VA House seats where winning looked like a pipe dream going into the election. The Dems won these seats because they recruited candidates and actually campaigned. Important lesson for 26--the electorate is pissed--but you can only win when you run. Run everywhere!
Democrats contested all 100 Virginia House of Delegates races. Part of the party’s statewide success is due to the synergies between the legislative and statewide campaigns—even the losing ones. This is a big reason why Jay Jones won comfortably. This is a model the Dems should emulate everywhere
